“Responsible citizenship is a virtue,
and participation in political life is a moral obligation.”
— Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship

LVG members had the wonderful opportunity to meet and listen to Michael F. Acquilano, Director of the South Carolina Catholic Conference, at the Fall 2015 Theology on Tap series on the Intersection of Faith & Politics. Per the website, “Formed in 2013 by the Bishops of Charleston, the South Carolina Catholic Conference is the means by which the bishop and clergy of the state act together on public policy matters for the mutual well-being of the Catholic Church and all citizens throughout the state.” Their focus goes well beyond the upcoming Presidential election into the daily issues effecting social teaching and public policy matters. Catholics are called to political responsibility and Mr. Acquilano makes awareness and action within easy reach!
