To consecrate means to set aside for a sacred purpose. As Christians, we have been consecrated to God through the grace of our baptisms, and so we are set aside for His purposes alone. In the rich heritage of the Church, we have many ways to grow in this consecration, one of which is the Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary, a 33-day period of prayer laid out by Saint Louis de Montfort. Mary’s life was set aside for the sole purpose of serving our Lord. By following her example, we, too, can completely give ourselves to Christ in service and love.
This will be an introductory meeting on February 8th at 6:30pm at the home of Victoria & Dan B (call 770-366-3246 for the address) about the Consecration for those interested in learning more before the 33-day prayer begins on February 20th. If you are looking for a particular means of growing in your faith this Lent, please consider joining us! Some members of our group made this consecration together two years ago and have found it to be a beautiful exercise to grow in love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Those who have already completed the consecration are welcome to join and share their experiences. We look forward to seeing you there!
