LVG joins in celebrating with parishioners of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the Greenville community on the exciting news that Father Christopher Smith has been named by Bishop Robert Guglielmone PASTOR of Prince of Peace Catholic Church! If you have ever wondered about the difference between titles (Pastors, Administrators, and Parochial Vicars) and why this news marks such a significant milestone in a priest’s life, check out this article.

As an extension of this joyful news, we have another big announcement! Father Chris will be the keynote speaker in our Lenten Evening of Recollection for Greenville, co-sponsored by the Diocese of Charleston’s Office of Young Adult Ministry. Mark your calendar: Friday, February 27th at 7pm. We will begin with Stations of the Cross in the church and continue into the talk with a light meal in keeping with Lent. The evening will focus on the importance of silence, discernment, fasting, virtue, prayer, and other aspects of Christian discipleship. In particular, Father will expand on the notion of penance, redemptive suffering, obstacles to holiness, and how to carry the discipline of Lent throughout the year. RSVP here.
