If you haven’t already carved out 2:00 to 4:00 this Sunday, September 14th, on your calendar for the Fall 2014 Lucis Via Picnic – do it now! This is something special. Father Chris Smith has graciously invited us to the Prince of Peace rectory, his gorgeous home and land on the east side of Greenville, for our picnic location.
Burgers, burger “accessories,” and paper/plastic products will be provided. We ask that you please bring sides, desserts, and drinks (including alcoholic ones) to share. It would also be a smart idea to bring camp chairs, bug spray, sunglasses, etc., as this will be a largely outdoor event. If you have a Frisbee or football or other outside amusement items to bring, that would be fun, too!
PLEASE: NO PETS! But do invite your friends, Catholic and non-Catholic alike.
VERY IMPORTANT – parking is limited, so we urge you to carpool. Meet at the BiLo shopping center at the corner of Haywood/Howell Roads and E. North Street (3715 E. North Street – across from McDonald’s) beginning at 1:30. Shuttles will be available until 2:00 p.m. The rectory is very close by: near Howell Commons Apartments (turn on Howell Circle and look for the house on the right, with balloons).
You can view the Facebook event here, so that you can RSVP, say what you’re bringing, and just see who else is planning to attend. Over 30 folks have already responded that they’re coming!
