63Please join us in creating a very special Christmas for all those served by the Julie Valentine Center. This organization works to stop sexual violence and child abuse in Greenville. Their inspiration comes from an infant who was found deceased in a wooded area here in Greenville on a cold February day in 1990. The police named her Julie Valentine. Adopted by the community, her legacy has become a symbol of hope for those who have survived rape or child abuse. The Julie Valentine Center’s work includes community education to stop child abuse and sexual assault before it happens, services for children and rape crisis support to reduce trauma and re-establish safety for victims, and treatment to engage survivors in the healing process through compassionate and comprehensive treatment.

A comprehensive wish list (please sign up) is found at this link. PLEASE SIGN UP so that items are not duplicated. The items in the wish list will be used by ALL families (300+) served at the JVC and will likely provide great comfort to children going through significant turmoil. The variety of things needed is great and covers many price points making this opportunity truly accessible to all our members. Cash is accepted, too.

Please bring your donations to ANY of our LVG events, including our Christmas Party on December 16th beginning at 6:30pm at St. Mary’s Downtown. More drop off locations are being arranged with our local parishes. Stay tuned. If a pick up is needed, please contact lvgreenville@gmail.com.
