Rachel serves on the Spiritual Team which focuses on Eucharistic Adoration (coordinating both the weekly silent adoration at Prince of Peace on Thursdays 7-8pm & the monthly ‘Hour of Grace’ at St. Mary Magdalene on the 1st Tuesday of each month), prayer, and retreat development. The team is working on creating a rosary group and will soon begin meeting in prayer for women considering abortions at the Greenville Women’s Clinic.
Rachel moved to Greenville about a year+ ago from Illinois to work at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church as the Stewardship & Ministry Coordinator. She is one of 3 sisters and was raised Catholic by her Mom who also served in the Catholic Church. Like many young adults, Rachel enjoys attending multiple parishes in Greenville including St. Mary Magdalene, St. Mary’s, and Prince of Peace. Her favorite saints include, Blessed JP II, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Clare, St. Felicity, St. Joseph and Padre Pio. And, her favorite quote (at the time of this post) is “It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; He is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is He who provoked you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is He who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is He who reads in your heart your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle. It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives, the will to follow an ideal, the refusal to allow yourselves to be ground down by mediocrity, the courage to commit yourselves humbly and patiently to improving yourselves and society, making the world more human and more fraternal.” –Blessed JP II.
